Homework & The Getty

I've been in the studio/lab a whole bunch lately. Now we're getting some outdoor assignments. This means I bring that huge accordian camera with me and set it up on my 20 pound tripod. Each shoot takes about 3 hours to get a few shots...and you ahve to go to the places ahead of time to figure out how to handle the crazy camera. You can imagine how funny this whole thing is. Well, I also bring my digital along to get "instant" shots of what I'm shooting versus waiting for the film to be developed, etc. Here's one of the assignments - an east looking building. Also a coupla pictures of my set ups.

Joe and I got to go to the Getty this weekend. Fun as always. When we're so close, it's easy to go up for an hour or two. We had some treats there & it was fun.

Valentime's Day

I love it when people say Happy Valentime's Day. One of my students was hilarious, he was leaving for the day and gave me a big hug, then said, "Happy Valentime's Day Missus Grimes. Ho, ho, ho!" I guess Cupid and Santa are one in the same to him.

ANYWAY, Joe and I had a great Valentime's Day together. He's been working a lot lately and with school starting this week (yes, I'm back in classes), we decided to go to Palm Springs for the night. We had a great dinner at Matchbox, where Joe requested the coolest table in the world. It was its own tiny balcony and overlooked "The Strip." The next day we drove up to Joshua Tree and messed around up there. We were gone a little over 24 hours, but it was fantastic fun!!! Oh and the whole way there, we just saw mountains and mountains covered with snow. I love southern CA, beach, desert, mountains, all of it!!!

Disney!!!!!

Joe and I went to Disneyland for the weekend. It was fantastic. It rained Saturday morning and it must've scared people away, because we walked onto every line...

Aquarium

The Aquarium of the Pacific was fun. And magical.
